Advantages of SportSoles Custom Liners
ULTRALON foam is much lighter than traditional stock liners and injection liners. Actually, using our custom liners will not only provide you with superior warmth and comfort for your feet, but they are also up to 0.5 kilograms (1 pound) lighter. The process requires that the liner template be heated up for a few minutes until the ULTRALON foam is soft and maliable. Once the liner is ready to be fit, it is put on your the foot and placed into the boot to be used with the liner so that it molds to your foot and the inside of your boot for more comfort and better performance. The liner is designed to have an overlap entry instead of a tongue to give it the necessary ankle support without the requirement for additional ankle reinforcement. This overlap design is also the only total contact liner, which means that, unlike foam injection, the liners are in contact with the entire surface of your foot. This design has been proven to offer the best performance and the most comfort for all users.
The Fitting Process
What makes our products unique is our liner molding process, which would not be possible without our partner, ULTRALON Products', foam. All our products are made from thermo-forming closed cell foam. This foam consists of millions of tiny cells, or bubbles, which are created by pouring measured amounts of the mixed ingredients into a two-piece mold which is sealed and heated under tremendous pressure. The material is heated slowly and evenly to a specific temperature and pressure, then is allowed to cool to ambient temperature before the mold is opened and the foam is removed.
This process results in very uniform cell structure and a very high percentage (70% - 80%) of cross-linkage between molecules in each cell wall. This high percentage of cross-linkage between the cells means that the foam does not allow gases in each of the tiny bubbles to migrate to the others, which would change the shape of the foam. The membrane between the cells is also treated with chemical "fillers" which creates a more homogeneous membrane.
All of this results in the ability to mold the foam into a specific shape when heated, which the foam will retain when cooled with reduced heat-related shrinkage, high quality "memory", and resistance to "packing out". This foam can also be re-heated and molded more than once without damaging its structural integrity or quality.
Using this foam for Intuition products allows us to provide a completely customized fit by heating the foam and molding it specifically to your foot and boot at the same time. Since the foam can be remolded several times without compromise, we can also adjust your Intuition liner if you want to fit it into another shell at a later time. One final benefit to this foam is that it will not lose its structural integrity if it is shaved down. As long as the cut does not go all the way through the foam, we can shave small areas around the liner to compensate for any remaining pressure points encountered after molding due to foot irregularities.
The ULTRALON thermo-forming closed cell foam is designed to be more resistant to heat related shrinkage and pressure related "packing out" than any other foam in the world. Using this foam in all of our products provides the highest durability and product endurance to our customers.

The Godiva: A Woman Specific Thermofit Liner

The Godiva Women's Universal Liner is designed to fit the uniquecontours of a woman. We have scalloped the cuff area to accommodate the calf better, shortened the height by an inch and a half, made the wrap thicker to protect sensitive shins, and narrowed the heel pocket. This is the plushest liner possible, has been desinged to keep women's feet warm and comfortable.

The Luxury needs to be molded like the other custom liners, however it doesn't need to be cooked as long. Typically the cook time will be 2-3 minutes shorter than usual.
